The BIR is going after the income tax payments of more than 130,000 unregistered Chinese working in the Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) sector.

We believe that this move by the BIR to impose taxes on POGO workers provides an opportunity for the latter to operate legally in the country. If this will be the case, the risk on the possible crackdown of POGOs in the country could be covered.

This could then be positive for Megaworld Corp. (MEG) being the biggest office landlord among listed property developers.
